Blood & Love and Other Vampire Tales Page 9
My mouth consumes his as hungrily as he kisses mine.
And then he is holding me tightly. I was not even aware of when he turned me around in his embrace. His kisses are soft on my face as he cradles it between his hands. I can feel him trembling against me as I stroke his body gently beneath his long coat.
“My darling,” I whisper against his lips. “I missed you.”
“Too many nights apart from you is enough to drive me mad,” he says with an evil twinkle in his eyes and he crushes me against him.
I can feel how much he wants me. How much he needs me. His body betrays it all. But then again, so does mine. We’re enraptured with each other and my hands glide over him. I press my cheek against his chest to hear his heart beat and his fingers slip through my hair. I want him so desperately. To feel his weight on me, his strength, his love for me as he fills me as we make love: I am drowning in my desire for him.
I become aware of you only because I am hungry. You are watching us. You and your love are staring openly. How amusing you are. Is this what you desire? Love that consumes all that you are and wraps you forever in the soul of another? Could you endure it? To love this deeply is to be a slave to the one you love. I am both master and slave to my lover. I am master of his heart and slave to his love. And he is the master of my heart and a slave to my love. We dance a waltz of passion, love, blood and death.
“You hunger,” he whispers in my ear.
“For you.”
“Ah, yes.” He laughs softly and kisses me. “And I hunger for you. But you hunger. For blood.”
“Yes.”
His mouth lightly glides over mine and he glances toward the couch. How the feel of his lips enthralls me! The beauty of his face enraptures me. But his eyes guide my gaze. “Then feed, my beloved.”
Ah, mortal. Now my attention is on you. My love smiles as my fangs descend behind my blood red lips and I feel him raise my hand to his lips to press a tender kiss to it.
Now your purpose in this night is clear, isn’t it? As you courted your would-be lover, I have been courting you.
My prey.
My beloved prey.
Your gaze is now drowning in mine. There are no secrets between us. You know what I am now. What I can give you.
Already you are afraid. This moment is always delicious. Do you truly want love that will consume your soul? I can grant it to you for a moment. For one delicious kiss.
Invite me.
And you do.
You did not even realize the moment you opened yourself to me, but now we are moving toward each other. How cliché to even think it, but you are now in my power. As the dancers writhe below, we now dance alone up here. I can feel my lover smiling. Watching me. He loves to see me hunt.
Holding my hand out to you, you come to me. Your warm fingers tangle with my cold ones as I draw you close. We sway to the music swirling around us, dance in the darkness, moving slowly. Our roles are chosen. Our moment is nearly complete. I can feel you love me. You need my touch.
Your date can only sit and gape.
It amuses me.
I twirl you around in my arms and then pull you firmly against me. You gasp and I smile. I run my fingers into your dyed hair and find it coarse and stiff. But I don’t care, I tangle my fingers in it and pull your head to the side as I press you against the wall and bare my white fangs.
The soft whimper as I bite into your scented flesh is almost as delicious as the taste of your blood. Closing my eyes, I feast.
Life: thick and red.
I tremble as the power of your living blood fills my Undead body. In this moment, you are my love and I love you passionately. We are lovers locked in a lover’s embrace, our hearts beating together as the blood fills my mouth. A perfect dance of passion is what we share.
And then your heart weakens, and I can drink no more. Your death would do nothing but fill me with emptiness and remorse as quickly as your blood has filled me with life and joy. A long lick with my tongue to heal your wound and I press you away. You fall back onto the couch with your would-be lover, who is dazed and mesmerized by the touch of my own lover.
How delicately my love wipes a drop of blood from your date’s throat and offers it to me. I lick the tip of his finger then pull him close. As you swoon against your desired one, I wrap my arms around the neck of my glorious vampire lover and we dance through the shadows.
His love and your blood fill me.
I am alive.
Do you understand now, my little mortal?
You have touched the eternal. The night. The Undead. You have given me life. I have given you yours. We have danced to the dark music. I have loved you for one brief moment and though you will remember me in a surreal, hazy memory, we were lovers.
And now I bid you farewell.
My love pulls me close and kisses me so I can taste the blood on his tongue and lips. Your blood and that of your would-be lover mingles in our mouths as we twirl around this darkened balcony. Our love overwhelms us and consumes our undead flesh. Wrapped in each other’s embrace, we kiss, we devour, and then we dance into the shadows and the world disappears as the night embraces us once more into her cold arms.
I am alive.
Final Author’s Note
I hope you have enjoyed my vampire tales of blood, love and revenge. It’s amazing how long ago some of these short stories were written, yet I love them just as much as when I first wrote them.
But they are not my only vampire tales. I am presently writing two vampire series: one a modern tale with vampires, necromancers, witches, and zombies; the other a tale of gothic horror in old world Europe.
